We would very much like to hear your views on your 350 camera and would be really grateful if you could spare 10-15 minutes to take part in an important customer survey. You help us to develop our products and services. We really value our customers and your opinion is important to us. How weird is that!! I have just been reading the above comments and then checked my emails - an email from sony: If anything, I wish they'd release their software to be compatible with 圆4. Mine was set to that too, as I played with it in the store before buying the camera. Puzzling religion edited this topic ages ago. That was when I was initially just trying out the camera just after opening the box haven't bothered to change that yet. And I set the camera (A700) to take an image regardless of presence of any storage media. In the A700 I have seen it, although I tend not to leave cards out of the camera, so have not run into the same problem as you. How hard would it be to add that to the A350?ĭj.bp That really surprises me that no such option exists in the A3x0. The A100 would let you lock the shutter if no CF card was in the camera. I cannot tell you how many times I have grabbed the camera for a quick shot, then after taking it noticed there is no CF card. Still no news in this department? I'd walk over dead bodies to get EV bracketing in 2 steps.ĮV bracketing is on my want list, and a shutter lock. Ergo, come up with 10 new features, which are technically doable, but don't stomp on a700's toes. Writing firmware isn't as easy as eating pancake one doesn't do it for a minor new feature. I hear the a700 had something of an issue with NR, so that was fixed. Well, does it really need an update? Never ask for updates for update's sake. Link to one of the blogs, there are several. Seems they listened to the suggestions about the A-700, so it may work. If enough people complain, perhaps there may be an update. Sony does have blogs on the net, and you can register your complaints and/or suggestions. The option to turn off Noise Reduction was something that many A700 users have bitched about, and as a result Sony did something about it. If you A350 owners are happy with your purchase, then Sony are not going to bother updating it - after all, they haven't been told otherwise, have they? I don't feel such a strong need for a software upgrade.īut if it comes, one thing I'd love to see is a mirror-lock-up feature when the 2-secs timer is activated. This is not a good way to get repeat customers if they do not take care of what they already have out on the market. I would just like to suggest that all A350 owners email them and asked when a update is coming. Shoot your subject in RAW format and you can use the Image Data Converter software to change the EV value, with that I think you can do HDR’s hope this helps… I am just afraid the A350 might be too different from the A900 to benefit from all the R&D that resulted in the development of the flagship model. It seems as new cameras are developed Sony sinks R & D into new models and firmware for competition, thus old models benefit, which is great that Sony just didn't forget about the older models totally. The best upgrade for the A-700 was the last one, and I'm sure it was influenced by complaints and the release of the A-900. Some of the A-100 updates came at the end of it's production life as new models were about to be released. I think the A-100 had about 4 updates, if I remember correctly. it would be very easy for them to do and make HDRs easier. I would like +/- 2 EV bracketing on the A200-350s. The A900 is in many ways an A700 on steroids, twice the pixels, twice the processors so I can see backporting the A900 firmware was relatively straightforward. Sounds like Sony is just not going to bother with the A350 then.īut to be honest on the A700 we were lucky to benefit from the development of the A900 firmware. I understand that Sony puts more efforts in the A700, the once flagship model, than in other DSLR models, but why there have been four firmware upgrades for the A700 and none for the A350? Is it the case that beginner models never get updated? Has any firmware update for the A350 appeared on the Japanese site?Ģ.
